ABOUT US.

Mustard Seed Kenya (MSK) is a faith-based welfare community dedicated to supporting believers and their families in times of need. Inspired by the biblical principle in Matthew 17:20 that even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains, the organization was founded on the belief that small contributions from many people can create powerful support for members during life’s most difficult moments.

Mustard Seed Kenya began in June 2023 in Mumias, Kenya, as a church welfare initiative within Jesus Miracle International Ministry. It was founded by Bishop Sylvester Sunday, the Presiding Bishop of the ministry, with the vision of creating a reliable support system for church members facing bereavement and other family challenges.

What started as a small church-based welfare program quickly grew into a trusted support network. Due to its effectiveness and the increasing interest from believers outside the ministry, the welfare began a pilot expansion in October 2025, which ran for three months. After the successful pilot phase, the welfare officially opened its membership in January 2026 to other denominations and believers across the Body of Christ.

Today, what began simply as “Mustard Seed” Church Welfare has expanded rapidly and continues to grow across the four corners of Kenya, bringing together believers from different churches and communities under a shared spirit of compassion, unity, and mutual support.
