This document outlines the official policies governing the services and benefits offered by Mustard Seed Kenya.
All members are required to read, understand and comply with these policies as a condition of membership.
1.1 Waiting Period
- Members or beneficiaries aged below 69 years shall observe a waiting period of 120 days (4 months) from the date of registration before qualifying for benefits.
- Members or beneficiaries aged 70 years and above shall observe a waiting period of 180 days (6 months) from the date of registration before qualifying for benefits.
1.2 Definition of Beneficiaries
- Children are defined as individuals aged 1 year to 18 years, or up to 25 years with proof of active schooling.
- Parents refer strictly to the biological parents of the member.
- Parents-in-law refer to the legitimate biological parents of the member’s spouse.
1.3 Infant Death Benefit
In the unfortunate event of the death of a child below the age of one (1) year, Mustard Seed Kenya shall provide a cash support of KES 20,000 to the family.
1.4 Claim Eligibility
- The member must be active at the time of making a claim.
- Mustard Seed Kenya does not substitute Last Expense support products with cash payments, except where explicitly stated.
1.5 Contribution Deadline Policy
Monthly contributions must be submitted by the 10th day of each month.
Failure to remit the monthly contribution by the 10th shall attract a new waiting period of 90 days (3 months), calculated from the 10th day of the month in which the payment delay occurred.
